CET-K by KEA has left 10,340 seats vacant after second round of counseling

Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2014 (CET-K 2014) second counseling is over and has left

10,340 seats in different streams vacant.

The highest number of unallotted seats was in engineering, that is, 9,897 out of the total 65,685.

The total 607 medical seats available in the round were lapped up. Hence all the 2,350 medical

seats have been assigned. Moreover, the total 914 dental as well as 2,616 farm science seats

available for counseling have also been allotted.

Altogether 73,756 seats across different streams were on offer, out of which 63,416 were taken

up. As many as 22,615 seats were on offer in the second extended round.

According to KEA officials, another round of counseling may be held due to the high number of

unallotted seats. This may also benefit candidates who have cleared the Karnataka Second Pre

University Certificate (II PUC)supplementary examination. The result of the examination was

announced on July 24, 2014.

The second extended round of counseling of CET-K 2014 candidates started on July 17, 2014.

The seat allotment result of the second extended round of counseling of the CET-K 2014 rank-

holders was announced on July 23, 2014. The option entry for the second extended round of

counseling was rescheduled to 1 pm on July 22, 2014 from the originally scheduled July 21,

2014 since new seats were added to the matrix, as per KEA.
