3.75 lakh apply for CBSE’s NET

November 8, 2014

NEW DELHI: Now that the online application system for the National Eligibility Test (NET) is working again, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has received about 3.75 lakh applications.

The last date to apply for the exam, which CBSE is conducting for the first time, is November 15. "Last year, there were about five lakh applications," says J K Yadav of CBSE, adding that this year they've added two centres—Solapur in Maharashtra and Bareilly in UP.

The web page for applying online had been acting up for a few days before shutting down completely on November 4, leaving many applicants worried. It, however, was up and running again by next morning.
