IIM Ahmedabad Marketing Conference begins todaySeptember 20, 2014
Insight, the marketing conference of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, will begin today on the institute's campus.
Over the past 26 years, Insight has successfully established itself as the defining marketing conclave that brings corporates, business school students, academia and consumers together to promote marketing and market research. The 27th edition of Insight, with title sponsors UCO Bank, and powered by The Times of India, will be held over 20th and 21st September 2014.
Insight has emerged as a solution provider for corporates through innovative marketing research conducted in a fair called the 'Great Ahmedabad Mela', which draws a huge local audience. It also features a wide range of events that test the mettle of top B-school brains, and seminars by eminent speakers, who dissect the latest developments in marketing. It is the only festival of IIM-A and only the fifth in the country to acquire ISO Certification ISO 9001:2008. Insight draws a footfall of over 8,000 local fair audience and over 3,000 B-school students from across the country in two days.
According to Chendur Kumaran, the event secretary for Insight 2014, this year's edition features three new events - Cinemark (movie marketing), Star Manager (sports marketing) and Adarsh (market research for NGOs). These events are the first of their kind in any business school festival.
Adarsh will feature teams selling products made by NGOs - SRISTI and the Blind People's Association - and conduct market research study for the NGOs. The event provides a great opportunity to apply management skills for a social cause.
The two-day festival will also feature workshops by established firms. "These workshops and speaker sessions are highly sought after by local as well as visiting students and puts the students in direct touch with leaders of the industry," said Kumaran. "After sweating it out in the events, there are star performances on both days which will feature events such as a ghazal concert and classical dance performances."
