New Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) first round of counselling for medical undergraduate seats will continue till July 11.
The second counselling round will be held from August 11 and the third counselling round from September 9. Open counselling for vacant seats will be held on September 24.
The candidates will be allowed to choose their institution of choice when called during the counselling as per their rank in respective category.
The seats that are to be filled by open (UR) competition will be filled up first during the counselling process. The candidates will be called for counselling based on merit alone irrespective of whether they belong to UR, SC, ST or OBC categories.
Once that is done, the candidates from the reserved category (SC/ST/OBC candidates) will be counselled to fill up the seats earmarked for them in their respective categories.
During this process, if a candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC who had taken admission under open competition, opts for other institution of his/her choice for which he or she would be eligible as per the rules of reservation, the seat vacated by him or her in open (UR) competition shall be filled with a candidate from the same reservation category only, in order of merit.
The admission of the candidates is subject to their satisfying the eligibility conditions as laid down in the prospectus as well as verification of the documents/information furnished in their application forms and the original certificates/documents at the time of counselling.
Reserved category candidates need to bring all relevant documents from prescribed authorities stating that they belong to specific groups.
