New Delhi : Ministry of Human Resource Development has asked IGNOU to declare the results for Community College students within the next 15 days. Around 1.5 lakh students are waiting for the IGNOU Community College results.
The ministry asked the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to "declare the results and complete the process of issuing certificate to the students", a statement said.
The ministry also asked IGNOU to "notify the examination schedule for those students who have completed their courses but are waiting to appear for the examination," reported IANS.
"Keeping the interest of approximately 1.5 lakh students, who had registered for IGNOU's community college development scheme, the ministry urged IGNOU to expedite and complete the action in next 15 days," an official statement said.
IGNOU had introduced the scheme that aims to empower individuals through appropriate skill development in 2009.
Indira Gandhi National Open University provides affiliation to Institutes in the form of Community Colleges to teach certificate/diploma courses and associate degrees. The courses offered by the Community Colleges are designed to impart training in the desired trade so that candidates can begin their occupation as soon as they complete their course. For students interested in further studies, they can opt for the associate degree course which can be directly converted into a three year degree programme at IGNOU. (Source-IANS)
