HC asks CBSE to review 6 AIPMT questions within a weekJune 19, 2014
Chandigarh : The Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday asked the
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to review six ambiguous
questions in the biology section of All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT)
within a week.
Hearing a petition filed by Dr Arvind Goyal of Chandigarh, a division bench comprising Justice Rajive Bhalla and Justice Harinder Singh Sidhu passed the order and adjourned the case for June 18.
The petitioner had sought re-examination of six "erroneous and ambiguous" questions in the recently concluded AIPMT. The petitioner, who is running a coaching centre in the city, has also sought directives to provide grace marks to candidates for the wrong questions in the AIPMT examination held on May 4.
He also sought preparation of a fresh merit list after re-examining the ambiguous questions.
The HC asked the petitioner to bring on record material that would help the court understand his grievances.
When the matter came up for hearing on Wednesday, the petitioner produced the list of six questions, explaining the ambiguity in these.
Hearing the petitioner, the bench observed, "Without expressing any opinion on the legal rights of the petitioner and the CBSE, we dispose of the petition by directing the CBSE to take a decision on the contentions of the petitioner within a week". (Source- TOI)
