AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2014, 3 days to go

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be conducting its entrance test for the MBBS programme for the session 2014-2015 on June 1, 2014. The entrance exam holds the gateway to the colleges where all aspiring doctors dream of starting their career.

This MBBS Entrance Exam is conducted annually by AIIMS, New Delhi. The course is offered by AIIMS Delhi, Patna, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Bhubaneswar, Rishikesh and Raipur. It will be conducted in online as well as offline (Pen and Paper) modes.

This year, online registration of applications for the undergraduate entrance test was made open to the candidates in the first week of March. The admit cards for the same were made available to the registered candidates from May 16, 2014.

This year, 72 seats for Indian Nationals and one seat for Foreign National are available for admission to MBBS course. Out of these, 11 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes, 5 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes, 19 seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes and 37 seats for General Category.

Once candidates are selected, they will undergo a full-fledged regular programme of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) that shall last for a minimum of five and a half academic years including one year's compulsory internship.

Pattern of the entrance exam:
The exam question paper comprises of objective- type questions with multiple- choice answers.
Duration of Exam: Three hours and thirty minutes.
Number of Questions: 200; Physics: 60, Chemistry: 60, Biology ( Botany and Zoology): 60 and General
Knowledge: 20
Marking Scheme: Each correct answer will get one mark each. One mark will be deducted for every three wrong answers.
Physics: Heat and Thermodynamics, Waves, Optics, Modern Physics
Chemistry: Ionic Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, GOC, Carbohydrates, Proteins and Polymers, P Block, Chemical Bonding
Biology: Human Physiology, Plant Physiology, Ecology, Genetics, Organism and population, Living world and biological classification, Organism and population, Biodiversity and conservation.
