The much-awaited CBSE class 12 results for 2014 were declared today.While the Class 12 results for the Chennai and Trivandrum regions were declared on May 26, the results for the remaining regions - Ajmer, Allahabad, Bhubaneswar, Panchkula and Guwahati have been declared today. Results for Dehradun and Delhi will be declared tomorrow.
CBSE has notified that this year onwards there will be a change in the procedure for verification of marks and the same shall be displayed shortly. The applications for verification will be entertained online and not offline, the Board said.
The CBSE's class 12 pass percentage for Trivandrum region was 94.26 per cent. Out of this, 96.72 percent of girls managed to clear the exam while 91.96 per cent boys passed the exam in the Trivandrum region. A total of 35,638 candidates from Thiruvananthapuram registered for the exams wherein 18,414 were boys and 17,224 were girls.
The CBSE's class 12th pass percentage for the Chennai region which mostly follows the trend of remaining on top recorded a pass percentage of 91.63. A total of 46,441 students registered from the Chennai region out of which 25,976 students were boys and 20,465 were girls. The examination was attempted by 46,062 students out of which 42,207 students successfully cleared the exam. The pass percentage for boys was recorded at 90.45 per cent with 23,279 boys passing the exam; similarly the pass percentage for girls was 93.13 per cent with 18,928 girls passing the exam.
This year, the CBSE 12 exams became embroiled in a controversy over the alleged paper leak of Physics paper in Imphal. Some teachers also revealed that the class 12 question papers were tough compared to the previous year's although record breaking scores are expected from the students this year too.
The CBSE is also conducting counselling sessions that kickstarted on May 20 and will go on till June 10 and is conducted on all working days from 8 am to 10 pm.
Keeping the CBSE 12th results in mind, Anna University has extended the dates for the issue and submission of the application forms for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2014 to May 27.
