CBSE 12th results 2014 were declared yesterday i.e. May 26, 2014 for the regions of Chennai and
Trivandrum , while the results for remaining regions are expected to be declared today or tomorrow. The results for Chennai and Trivandrum region were declared for all three CBSE 12th streams i.e. Science, Commerce and Humanitites. The total pass percentage for the CBSE Class 12th Chennai region was 91.63 per cent.
Chennai region includes the following areas:
1. Tamil Nadu
2. Andhra Pradesh
7. Andaman and Nicobar Islands
8. Daman and Diu
A total of 46,441 students registered for the CBSE 12th examination 2014 from the Chennai region out of which 25,976 students were boys and 20,465 were girls. The examination was attempted by 46,062 students out of which 42,207 students successfully cleared the exam giving a pass percentage of 91.63 per cent. The pass percentage for boys was recorded at 90.45 per cent with 23,279 boys passing the exam; similarly the pass percent for girls was 93.13 per cent with 18,928 girls passing the exam.
The Central Board of Secondary Education conducted the Class 12th exams for a total of 10,29, 874 candidates out of which 6.03 lakh candidates were boys and 4.26 lakh candidates were girls. The number of students having registered for the CBSE Class 12th exams has increased by 9.32 per cent in comparison with the number of candidates registered for the CBSE 2013 exams. The CBSE exams 2014 were conducted during the months of March and April, although one Class 12 exam date had to be changed due to clashes with Lok Sabha election dates. The exams were conducted for 8,602 schools across 3,039 exam centers.
