Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) 2015: Registrations begin

Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for candidates seeking admissions to Integrated PhD degree programmes at IISc Bangalore and MSc (two years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-PhD dual degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., M.Sc.-M.S.(Research)/ PhD dual degree and other post-Bachelor's degree programmes at IITs.

The application process for JAM is a four step process:

Step 1: Registration at JAPS;

Step 2: Filling in the application forms;

Step 3: Payment of application fee

Step 4: Downloading the application form

Only online applications will be accepted.

JAM 2015 examination will be conducted for the seven test papers, namely: Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH). The seven test papers will be objective in nature with three different patterns of questions:

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ's);

Multiple Select Questions (MSQ's);

Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions

JAM is open to all nationals. Besides, there is no age restriction. Candidates should note that mere appearance in JAM 2015 or being in the merit list of any test paper neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement to admission. Qualified candidates will have to apply for admission as per the prescribed procedure. Admissions shall be made in order of merit in each category and depending on the number of seats available at the Admitting Institute.

Commencement of registration and application process: September 3, 2014

Last date for payment of fee through challan: September 30, 2014

Closure of online application process: October 9, 2014

JAM 2015: February 8, 2015

Results: March 19, 2015
